The Guy Fawkes or Bonfire Night celebrations are just about upon us for another year.
Magazine & newspaper classifieds are again running the supposedly fantastic bargains that can be had when your looking to buy amazing fireworks for your garden party.
Our advice is very simple: Don’t buy fireworks and instead plan a family trip to a free organised fireworks display.
Apart from this being a much safer option than trying to impress the kids by risking burns to your fingers (or worse) it can also work out a lot less expensive while being lots more fun.
Organised fireworks events have many advantages.
- They can afford to buy more and much bigger fireworks than you can
- They have safety measures put in place to protect you and your family
- They generally have inexpensive hot food stalls and with what you save on not buying fireworks you can afford to buy enough to keep warm … or you could take your own packed picnic

On top of that you can still take the praise for the family seeing a brilliant fireworks display and you can rid yourself of the ever familiar “you never take us anywhere” remark.
If you do decide to go ahead and buy your own “bargain” fireworks, then make sure they are legitimate and carry the appropriate safety classifications.
